edpep receives Top Hotel STAR Award

edpep, the personnel deployment planning solution from eurodata, was picked to receive the Top Hotel STAR Award.

This audience prize is awarded by the editors and readers of the specialist magazine Top Hotel, who select the best products in each of 14 categories.

edpep had been entered in the category ‘IT’ and was able to convince the jury of experts comfortably in the first stage, prevailing against a number of competitors and qualifying for the final. The subsequent vote for positions 1 to 3 was held in public. The decisive factor in the nomination was that the personnel deployment planning software offers flexible coverage of the whole range of complexity in the hotel and gastronomy sector, with regard to different types of contract, different ways of looking at wage supplements, compliance with statutory framework conditions, spontaneous team expansions etc. Even now, many well known hotel and gastronomy businesses already use this solution, on the one hand to afford themselves an overview of employees’ shift plans, and on the other to guarantee compliance with the statutory requirements of the Minimum Wage Act (MiLoG).

Christof Kurz, director of solutions for tax advisors and SMEs at eurodata, says: “We’re very pleased that our edpep team has developed a system that caters to the sector so well, implementing the complex requirements of the hotel industry as they relate to flexible personnel deployment planning. If there’s a bottleneck these days it’s important to be able to make the necessary decisions and react quickly. That’s exactly where we come in with our cloud solution, and that’s what the readers of Top Hotel have paid tribute to.”

With edpep, it’s possible to reduce administrative work and costs in the area of personnel management considerably, because employees can record their own hours of work, submit holiday requests and deal with other tasks in accordance with fixed rules, in what you might call self-service. Indeed, the data thus generated can then be transmitted to payroll accounting with a mouse click so that the pay slips can be drawn up, and that in turn cuts the risk of error and reduces the amount of work yet again.

“We’re delighted that our combination of technical facilities and user experience has been able to establish itself on the market and achieve such success in this competition. We see that both as recognition and as an incentive to carry on resolutely down this road”, says Zeljko Katavic, managing director of eurodata ProPep GmbH and ‘inventor’ of edpep.
