At this year’s Solilauf, held in St. Ingbert on 5 – 6 September, participants from eurodata did 842 laps, covering a total of 668 kilometres. Effectively, that means they ran all the way from Saarbrücken to the St. Pauli Piers in Hamburg.
For eurodata, taking part in the Solilauf has long been a good tradition. For many years now, the eurodata One Team have been toeing the line at this annual event, combining athletic zeal with social commitment. Year in, year out the employees put on their running shoes and go out to collect miles together for a good cause, helping to support various different social projects in the region.
This year too, there were 30 eurodata runners involved. Whether they were keen, slower-paced or simply out to enjoy taking exercise together, their efforts centred around being part of a team and making a joint contribution to a good cause. This time, the proceeds went to Beratung Interkulturell, a counselling centre in Saarland which helps women who have been victims of violence – regardless of their origin, their residence status and the language they’re at home in. With the donations collected at the Solilauf, the aim is to put the amenities offered by Beratung Interkulturell on a secure footing or – ideally – even extend them. Above all, the focus is on establishing and/or enhancing the future prospects of the women affected.
For eurodata, one thing is certain: after the Solilauf is before the Solilauf. Next year too, many people will turn out when it’s time for them to come and commit themselves to a good cause in St. Ingbert.
